At this moment CUSTARD is not a formal company, business or organization. It’s a data project. In a later edition I will be talking about a fever dream I call the CUSTARD Cup. (Edition 8: Is Roller Derby ready to go pro? An update)
CUSTARD isn’t much more than collecting information and broadcasting it. I honestly see very little point in making it a formal legal entity. The maps are probably the best method to broadcast the data. Twice a year the general update happens and once a year all the entries get accessed for classification. Classification is simply another tool for communicating the size and scope of an entry. Defining whether a group is competitive runs into lots of issues. If a group lists themselves as recreational, usually via website and/or social media then they are listed as such. It doesn’t seem to mean that they won’t engage with others in competitive play.
The maps will remain and I will keep updating them.
