Potential definition for

Exhibition Team( ET) in roller derby. —- a team not seeking consistent ranking from a sanctioning body. This could also be a team independent of a governing body to include pick up teams that engage in mostly ( more than 50%) tournament play. This could include borderless, state and World Cup teams as well as teams like TRU, the trans agenda , ETC.

This term for describing roller derby teams could be a third category with recreational and competitive. Sometimes referred to as Challenge teams.

Competitive could then refer to teams consistently seeking ranking/title with in a sanctioning body.

Recreational is a self identifying category
